Please refer to our response to the question: Are energy drinks suitable for kids and teenagers?

As energy drinks contain the same amount of caffeine as a cup of home-brewed filter coffee, the starting age will depend on the individual person, taking into account several factors such as body weight, how accustomed the person is to consume caffeinated products and their wish to start consuming products containing caffeine.

Energy drinks are not recommended for children and this is communicated on the label of energy drinks.

However, as part of a balanced diet and healthy and/or active lifestyle, energy drinks can be safely consumed by adults and adolescents, like any other food product.
